Aune Vald has been known for a number of years for being able to deliver good and varied fishing in Gaula, more precisely at Rognes just above Støren. After many years of collaboration with Støren JFF, the selection is offered directly to salmon fishermen from far and wide.

The embankment starts on the west side of the river about 50 meters below the bridge at Rognes and goes down to the border with Gjærahølen.

Fishing is offered on a total of approx. 3.3 km of river bank divided into 5 zones. All five zones are fished on the same fishing license.

On the Rv 30 (West) side of the valley, Aune has fenced the entire mentioned stretch with the exception of the area around the Storøra stadium.

On the opposite side of Rv 30 (East), Aune has chosen three good sections.

The top cave at Rognes bru is called Lerdalshølen or Bruhølen. Here, Aune chose the west side of the river.

Lerdalshølen can be fished regardless of the water level, but is best suited for lure and field fishing from medium to large rivers.

From medium to lower rivers, the hole is also well suited for fly fishing. The strip that follows below is fishable at low flow.

The next hole is Roggosen, where we dispose of the west side of the river.

Roggosen is well fishable both at low and high water levels with all types of gear.

100 meters below Roggosen lies Brukara.

This place is fished at various water levels, but is best when there is a lot of water.

Be aware that the fish go very close to land!. The stretch is well suited for fly fishing.

Below Brukarene follows a shallow rapid with lots of rocks before we reach Langhølen, which always contains plenty of fish.

It is fished at all water levels with all types of gear.

At low water levels, the upper parts of the hole are recommended, which can be fished from both sides of the river (follow the signs on the east side of the river). In case of large water flows, the lower part is best and then it is recommended to fish from the east side of the river. Here, too, the fish go very close to land.

300 meters below Rognes stadium is Utistuhølen.

Hølen is fished at all water levels, but is best on large rivers.

It is fished with all types of gear from both sides of the river.

At lower water levels, the entrance stream is well fishable with a fly from the east side of the river.

Djuphølen is suitable for fields and ditches.

The hole turns into a rapid that can be fished all the way down to the next hole, which is the border to Aune vald,

however, one is dependent on the water level not being too low.
