Borten/Losen beat is just under 2 km long, with fishing on both sides of the river at Kvål and Ler in Melhus. There are roads for close access and opportunities for parking along these on both sides of the beat.

Anglers are obliged to carefully read the regulations of the river Gaula. All fish must be registered in the catch statistics of Gaula on Elveguiden as soon as practicable after capture (also catch who has been released).

The 2022 season was very good at the beat, with 364 salmon and 2194 kg! A total of 44 salmon over 10 kg. The statistics show that almost equal number of salmon were caught on fly as on worms, so the beat is clearly suitable for different fishing methods and equipment.
