Hofstad Gård salmon fishing

At Hofstad Gård you can enjoy salmon fishing in the Stjørdalselva river with overnight stays in a beautiful log cabin right by the river. The Stjørdalselva is one of Norway's best salmon rivers and is a typical large salmon river. The fishing beat and the cabin are 10 minutes from Værnes (Trondheim airport) and 6 minutes from Stjørdal town centre.

The fishing beat

Our stretch of river is 800 metres long with exclusive fishing rights on both sides of the river, so you have the section to yourself without any counter-fishing. The beat is located in quiet surroundings, sheltered from roads and buildings. On the north side you have a traditional rural landscape with grain fields, while on the south side you fish along the Måsøra-Hofstadøra nature reserve, which is one of the largest and most varied remnants of floodplain vegetation in North Trøndelag. There are boats available to get to the other side of the river. This stretch of river is varied, suitable for all types of fishing equipment and ideal for up to 6 fishermen (beds for 8 in the cabin). See video of the river stretch at the bottom of the page.

Lodging

The log cabin is located in a rural setting just 70 metres from the river. The cabin is located on a hill overlooking the river and fields. There is a road all the way to the cabin and there is plenty of parking space. The cabin has 4 bedrooms with a total of 8 beds, bathroom, kitchen, TV with chromecast and WIFI. A gas barbecue is available at the cabin.

Rental of the salmon cabin is also possible out of season.
