FAQ: Catch report

How do I create a user profile? 
To report catches on Salmonrivers, you need to have a user profile. It's free to create a user profile. You can create one either on the website by clicking on "register", or on the app by clicking on the three lines in the top right corner and selecting "create account". Fill in all the required information and click on register. Once you've created a user profile, you can log in and gain access to report catches on Salmonrivers.

Reporting a catch 
Open the app or salmonrivers.no and click on "report catch". Search for the river where you want to report the catch. There may be different reporting types depending on the river you want to report to:

If you want to report without having a ticket, select "simple catch reporting" without connection to fishing ticket. If you want to report and have a fishing ticket, select "tie catch to fishing ticket" and choose the fishing ticket the catch should be tied to. You can also choose to report a catch on a ticket that someone else has purchased for you by selecting "specify custom details for fishing ticket".

For simple catch reporting, jump directly to selecting the fishing zone. For tie catch to fishing ticket, you must select the fishing ticket the catch should be tied to. For specify custom details for fishing ticket, enter the FCID number that appears on the fishing ticket if someone has purchased the ticket for you.

Choose the fishing zone where you want to report the catch, and click "add catch". Fill in the required fields, and click save. Make sure the correct name appears, and if not, remember to change it. Review that the report looks correct, tick the box to accept the river's current regulations, and submit.

Editing a catch 
Open "my page" in the app or on salmonrivers.no (in the app, click on the three lines in the top right corner, on the website, click on your name in the top right corner). Here, you can see an overview of all the reports you have submitted. Find the catch you want to edit in the overview "catches". Click edit and make the desired changes. Then click save.

Reporting a catch for someone else 
Open the app or salmonrivers.no, and click on "report catch". Search for the river where you want to report the catch. There may be different reporting types depending on the river you want to report to.

If you want to report for someone who does not have a fishing ticket, select "simple catch reporting" without connection to fishing ticket. If you want to report for someone who has a fishing ticket that you have purchased, select "tie catch to fishing ticket". If you want to report for someone who has purchased a fishing ticket on their profile, select "specify custom details for fishing ticket".

Double-check that the name of the person you are reporting for appears correctly - if not, change the name to the person you are registering the catch for now. Review that the report looks correct, tick the box to accept the river's current regulations, and submit.

Reporting no catch 
Open the Salmonrivers app or salmonrivers.com and click on "report catch". Search for the river where you want to report catch. There may be different reporting types depending on the river you want to report to:

If you want to report without having a ticket, select "report without connection to fishing license". If you want to report and have a fishing ticket, select "report tied to fishing ticket". You can also choose to report a catch on a ticket that someone else has purchased for you by selecting "specify custom details for fishing ticket".

If you choose to tie it to a fishing ticket, you must select the fishing ticket the catch should be tied to or enter the FCID number that appears on the fishing ticket if someone has purchased the ticket for you.

App: Select which zone you want to report catch on, and click "submit" without adding catch Web: Select which zone you want to report catch on, and check "no" when asked if you have caught any fish. Review that the report looks correct, tick the box to accept the river's current regulations, and submit.
